Barbara and Richard Mullen are owners and principal designers of Caroline-Edwards, Inc. Interior Architecture and Design (named after their middle names) based in Aspen, Colorado. Through highly-individualized interior architecture and design, fine textiles, quality furnishings and innovative building materials, the husband and wife team reveals the harmony of a home and strives to create a timeless quality to their work.

Barbara graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Interior Design. Upon completing her education, Barbara spent seven years at Wilson and Associates in Dallas, where she worked on hospitality and residential projects including projects for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Rosewood Hotels and Resorts.

Richard graduated Cum Laude from Connecticut College with a degree in Architectural Studies. After graduation, Richard received a Master's in Architecture at The University of Texas.

Upon completing his education, Richard spent seven years at Wilson and Associates in Dallas where he worked on hospitality and residential projects for The Ritz-Carlton and The Peninsula Hotels.

Together they moved to Aspen in 2001 to develop the interior design division for a local architecture firm where they completed several custom residential projects and the flagship Remède Spa at St. Regis Resort, Aspen. In 2006, Barbara and Richard opened their own firm, Caroline-Edwards, Inc. Interior Architecture & Design. Barbara and Richard are both members of the Design Leadership Summit.

Inspired by world travel and the importance of family and friends, Barbara and Richard Mullen buck the latest trends and instead create personal, comfortable, sophisticated living spaces for every client.
